Bio

Elsa Prado was born in Illinois and is a graduate of De Paul University, Chicago. Elsa is the mother of a daughter and her parents are from Mexico. Elsa is a State Certified Judicial Interpreter and a National Board-Certified Medical Interpreter. Elsa currently works as a Virtual Remote Interpreter for AMN Healthcare and works with government agencies through her business Prado Translations. Elsa has a radio program on Dimension Latina FM, Tu Radio Por Internet called Alas de Amor, (Wings of Love) the program is focused on the well-being of children and their families serving the Latino/Hispanic community. Elsa is a child activist and works with issues of human rights. Elsa also made a vow of social justice while attending St. Vincent De Paul University. Prior, to this Elsa did her radio program at Spanish Public Radio at UNAM (Universidad Autonoma de Mexico) Chicago Campus for three years. And, co-hosted the Hands Off Our Children Radio Show with Cogee for 9 years out of Las Vegas, Nevada. The program focused on raising awareness against child abuse. And, for the first several years the name of the program was called Conversations with Cogee. When Elsa was interviewed by Cogee for her book, Dear Donor, Cogee invited her to co-host with him and from there on they took off with the show. Later on, Elsa suggested they change the name of the program to Hands Off Our Children. Elsa also created a platform in Spanish, No Pongan Las Manos En Los Ninos. Elsa has been doing radio shows for 13 years. Now, to provide the author side of Elsa, she has written Dear Donor mentioned earlier, translated the book into Spanish (Querido Donante), this book was written to raise awareness about sperm inseminations. The second book, Heart Stomp was for women to pursue healthy relationships, also translated into Spanish, (Corazon Pisoteado). Elsa worked with Mexican author Andrea Saldana Rivera on 50 Poems of Love and Erotism to translate them into English, the book has the poems in Spanish on one side and the English version beside it. Also, Elsa does a podcast for Rincon Family Services called Cafecito With Rincon. These podcasts are hosted by Elsa to talk about the services offered to the community primarily Latino/ Hispanic community.

Elsa has a passion to serve the underserved and participated in the Latino Book and Family Festivals as a panelist and speaker for which she has received certificates of recognition. A certificate of recognition from the City of Carson in California for workshops for people interested in publishing their works. As well as a certificate of recognition for helping with the publication of Como Pedirle a Dios, A Traves De Los Angeles by Lic. Ivonne Sanchez. Elsa was awarded by Break the Silence Foundation for excellence in service to victims of Domestic Violence.

Elsa loves to do Zumba and dance, nature activities and loves the beach more than anything.
